Yahshikiah “Yah” Hughes
Yah Hughes is a dedicated professional with over 15 years in the field of higher education. Known for her high energy, impactful trainings, and authenticity, Yahshikiah “Yah” Hughes has blazed a trail of transformative achievement and leadership across campuses and within the community. Her ability to inspire real results, combined with her energy, enthusiasm and unsurpassed expertise will leave you with a positive and lasting impact. Yah currently serves as the Assistant Dean for Student and Corporate Engagement within the College of Business at Delaware State University.
Coined The Purpose Cultivator ™️ , Yah is a bestselling author, award winning speaker, barrier-breaking Coach and Emotional Wellness specialist. She also is the Founder of Cultivate Wholeness, a self-development firm that teaches women how to live a life of courage and wholeness. Yah is the author of: HELLO ME: The Power of Cultivating and Loving the Authentic You; Made Whole: A Woman’s Journey from Painful to Purposeful; and You Need It, I Got It: Conversations with Global Entrepreneurs on Growing Your Audience, Visibility & Influence.
A driven leader, educator, and coach to many, her influence has had a deep impact on the community. Yah was awarded the 2017 Unsung Hero Award from the Delaware Chapter of National Urban League Young Professionals and the 2015 recipient of the Delaware’s 40 most influential people under the age of 40. With more than fifteen years’ experience as a leadership trainer, educator, and speaker, Yah couples her leadership skills counseling degree with transparency to cultivate a life changing experience. Because of these accomplishments, she’s been featured in Huffington Post as “One of the 16 Global Entrepreneurs to PAY ATTENTION to in 2018!”.
Yah holds a master’s degree of Education with a concentration in Community Counseling from the Illustrious University of Maryland Eastern Shore and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. When she’s not cultivating the community and college students, she enjoys spending time with her family or long walks around Target.
