DAWN Annual Awards

Annually, DAWN honors local women leaders for their potential and demonstrated achievements, leadership, and contributions to higher education. Recipients of the Rising Star and Leadership Awards are recognized at the Annual Awards Dinner.

Leadership Award

The Leadership Award is presented annually to two women in higher education in Delaware on the basis of leadership activities and significant contributions to any aspect of higher education. You may nominate yourself or someone else. The nominee must:

  • have excelled in the field of higher education.
  • have been successful in demonstrating “steps to success.”
  • be a role model for “rising stars” in higher education.

The Leadership Award Winners will receive the following:

  • Special recognition at the Annual Fall Dinner
  • A leadership award and certificate
  • One year free membership to Delaware ACE Women’s Network
  • Paid registration to the Annual Fall Dinner

 

Rising Star Award

The Rising Star Award is presented annually to a woman in higher education in Delaware whose potential to achieve more is evident.  You may nominate yourself or someone else. The nominee must:

  • be a woman working in a higher education institution.
  • demonstrate a commitment to any aspect of higher education.
  • demonstrate contributions in some or all of the following areas: (1) higher education; (2) community service; and (3) overall leadership.
  • demonstrate promise of future leadership.

The Rising Star Award Winner will receive the following:

  • Special recognition at the Annual Fall Dinner
  • A Rising Star Award and Certificate
  • One year free membership to Delaware ACE Women’s Network
  • Paid registration to the Annual Fall Dinner
